Commercial Description:
A strong deep golden lager with a decided malty sweetness on the palate. Just enough hop bitterness to compliment the malty richness and higher alcohol content.

22 oz bottle. Pours orange with little to no head. Aroma of yeast, grass and a bit fruity. Flavor is predominatly orange peel and sweet malt. Finish is quite sour and mouthfeel is lighter than I expected. I’m not too familiar with this style of beer, so I am a bit confused by the whole experience.

Another interesting beer from this brewer, this poured a cloudy copper color with a nice off-white foamy head and moderate lacing. Nose of of yeast, caramel, and piney hops. Medium body. Flavor is malty, with a touch of fruit. Long dry finish. Nice to drink.

bottle from kenb...glad i got a good one. pours a hazy copper with a fluffy head...HUGE bubbles. aroma is mineraly, caramel and earthy fresh vegetables. flavor is malty (metallic disappears as it warms), mild sweet creamed corn, brown sugar and tarragon??? that numbs the sides of my tongue. acidity is present but not in a bad way( for a change). highly carbonated with a light to medium body...

Bottle shared by Dansting with the KC Crew. Scanning the other ratings for this beer, I have to wonder if I might have sampled from an "off" bottle or if I just can’t appreciate this style. It pours a cloudy orange-brown with a thin, creamy, off-white head. The nose is a funky, yeasty smell like an old, wet loaf of sourdough. Medium-bodied and creamy at first, it transitions to a gritty, sour and super dry finish. It’s not all that pleasant. The flavor is sour, tart, funky and dry resembling on old orange with most of its sweetness removed. I almost feel compelled to try this one again just to see if we had a bad bottle or this is really what the brewmaster intended.

This beer is a great example of Kellerbier style. Again with the Siletz Brewing, it is in true small craft brew fashion, brewing in small batches, that there will be a small amount of yeast residue in the bottom of the bottle, that is normal since it is non-filtered. So when pouring, leave about 1/4" in the bottom. This is a very drinkable beer and barely no aftertaste. I haven’t tried it on the tap but I only live 23 miles away from the Brewery. The color is a mild mahogany. Taste is almost a Black and Tan feel to it. All in all, not a bad brew to try. I would not however have this on a weekly occasion.

yet another infected siletz beer, it would almost be a disappointment if siletz bottled a beer that was not infected,

The bottle almost foamed over. Poured a lightly hazed copper color with a very large off-white head. The aroma is tart and sweaty. Oh and infected. The flavor is sour with a taste of vinegar. Short wet finish and a light body. Some infections work and some don’t.
