Aroma of tart cherries and some mild funk. Body starts lightly sweet and has lots of tart cherry fruitiness that although it’s clearly infected has a decent balance. This is still not something I’d want to drink again until this brewery fixes their infected bottle problems. Skyview (4060), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Sampled on draught at the brewpub in Siletz, Oregon during the ABA 07 Beer Tour. Last beer sampled pours a clear coppery amber brew with an average white head that dissolves to a thin film and good ring. Aroma of sweet and sour caramel malt, some cinnamon, and grassy/citrus hops. Taste has an average carbonated texture, medium bodied with a light caramel and citrus flavor. Finish is slightly tart with a touch of spice in the aftertaste. bhensonb (4341), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 27, 2007 Strong grassy aroma, backed by malt notes, possibly with that Siletz sour aspect. Clear amber color with a frothy head that exceeds the beer volume. Looks to be unpasteurized. Medium bodied, light caramel malt, very light stone fruit, a bit fizzy, develops a bit more malt as the carbonation leaves, finishes fairly balanced, with enough floral/citrus bitter to leave a pleasant taste in the mouth. My mouth says there is some peppery spice. The sour is hardly present in the end. Again, I opine that the sour is a fruity hop, as it is common in Siletz products. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Rated 3/4/07: For a lager this is rather intense, a lot of good stuff going on with this brew. Intriguing aroma, initially there’s this sour maltiness backed by a light fruitiness. All of that gives way to a delicate floral bouquet, it’s truly remarkable. Vibrant copper color with a light amber tint, small white head and moderate lacing. Lush and clean mouthfeel, this is a sippin’ lager that needs time to be enjoyed. The sourness is mostly lost in the flavor, it’s replaced by a nice mix of light citrus fruits, floral hops, and sweet malts. There is a dash of some mild spice. Very malty indeed, the overall mix of flavors is complex and it melds real well. Wow, this is really interesting. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
