| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2009 tap, beautiful thick moderately dark amber, very rich, with minimally thin white head, aroma of malt/fruit...no outstanding hop aroma, full mouth feel with caramel malt flavors, no real alcohol notes, VERY light hops on palate, great beer. theisti (1665), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 21, 2009 22 oz bottle courtesy of bvc. Pour is cloudy orange caramel brown. Nicely formed one inch tan head. Falls rocky with no lacing. Aroma of banana and clove yeastiness, some toasted brown sugar sweetness underneath that. Taste is initially wheat and cloves, than transition to the somewhat smoky brown sugar, finishing with some dried citrus fruit sweetness. Finish is a little sharper than I like, but is clean and well made. Palate is on the thin side of medium, almost watery. This makes it quite easy to drink, but does not hide the alcohol too well. Overall, nice beer. Thanks Brandon.
