BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Apr 9, 2008 Tap @ Brewery: Ruby mahogany, light head and lacing. Nose of sweet raspberry and pomegranate. Some spice and mulled grape. Clean sweet malts and a tart resinous body. ok!
Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 7, 2008 From a 22 ounce bottle at By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Deep mahogany brown body with a small off-white head. Nose of bright fruits, and sticky, floral maltiness. Boil, oily, and spicy. Very cloying and gummed up with malt sugars. Not what I had hoped for. Bier brauen (139), Bremerton, Washington, USA Mar 5, 2008 Nice color. Nice head. Nice taste. Nice finish. Nothing outstanding in this bock, but nothing offensive either. Drinkable. after4ever (1717), Brier, Washington, USA Aug 29, 2007 22. Pours crystal clear medium amber with a thick, sudsy white head that disappears almost instantly. Not much lace. Subdued, sweaty, lightly footy nose that somehow has a plastic-like note, like the vermiculite you get in potting soil that’s been fertilized; kind of earthy but synthetic at the same time. Neither pleasant nor unpleasant, but, you do want a beer to have a distinctly pleasant smell. Medium body, fairly still, lightish attack other than the huge malt bomb this thing is. Sticky toffee and caramel all over the attack, mid-palate, and finish, and it’s an undifferentiated cereal wash at that. Tastes like cheap, stale malt. I kind of want to brush my tongue now. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 31, 2005 Amber with decent size head. Aroma was caramel and sweet. Flavour was rather thin and slightl acidic with some bready malts.
