It is a little sour, but I’m not sure if that was intentional or not. MatSciGuy (639), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 11, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. From snifter glass pours an opaque dark brown with a thick tan head that slowly dissipates to a thin creamy tan head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted dark malt, some prunes and a touch of allspice. Taste is full bodied, some extra alcohol kick, toasted dark malt, chocolate and some mild bitterness. Finish has a slight metallic aftertaste with some alcohol warmth and toasted dark malt flavor. Ofortuna (322), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 26, 2007 From my backlog of notes. Served on tap from the brewery. Served in a snifter glass and a bit colder than I would’ve liked. Some nice aromas of chocolate and plums with a bit of hop presence noted once it warms up. Good use of specialty malt to give a hefty roastedness to the flavour. Good viscosity and a slight pleasant warming character as it goes down. Wish the body was just a little more, but overall a very good imperial porter and deserving of a try when this is made available again. After talking with the bartender, they would like to make this appear seasonally.
