bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA Oct 15, 2009 Bottle. Golden beer with an off-white head. Grass and light malt aroma. Malt and mineral flavor with a light sweetness. Medium bodied. Sweet malt lingers with grass, light spice, and light mineral notes. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Sep 3, 2009 Clear golden with a fleeting head. Sulfery celery aromas. Light body. Lightly sweet pale malt flavors. Not so bitter finish. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Aug 12, 2009 Pours gold/straw with a white head. Smells of sweet malt, underattenuated, appley. Tastes sweet and messy with some spicy hints on the finish. kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 1, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light gold body with a very small and thin fizzy white head that vanished completely. The nose is bready with a bit of DMS and corn. Zero perceptable hops. The flavor is adjunct laden with a bit of crusty bread and a light sweetness. Are there any hops in here at all? Mouthfeel is light and fizzy with a bit of doughy stickiness on the finish. Zero crispness. Wow, this was a lot worse than expected. I’d rather just have an MGD. Aggy360 (115), Anchorage/ Vista,CA, Alaska, USA May 29, 2009 I should start by saying I can drink it but it is not something I will buy again. This pours a clear golden yellow with a thin white head that leaves little to no lace. I poured it hard too. It has a slight sweet malt nose but no hop aroma to find. The tastes is almost sweet with some wheat and still no hops to be found. It is a little watery, which does not help it’s score. It has a crisp pilsner finish but it is not enough to make it a great beer. Not toooo bad, but it will not join my list of "Go To" beers. fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 19, 2009 Bottle pours clear golden color with white head. This beer really doesn’t have any aroma to it. Maybe a slight grain presence. A little light and watery mouthfeel. Flavor is non-remarkable. Slight grain with some slight hop that has an unpleasant sweetness. It does have a clean crisp finish though. That must count for something. GAManiac (1123), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 8, 2009 12oz bottle, labeled "Coldfoot Pilsener", courtesy of lakersfan16 poured into a pint glass.
Pours a clear straw yellow with a short lived collection of bubbles on the top that recede to nothing quickly and leave no lacing. Not the most appetizing beer honestly.
The aroma is very mild and sweet with a buttery light malt sweetness dominating with a little bit of other light fruits and some grains as well.
The taste has an initial toasted grain presence that gives way to the sweet light malts and fruit. The finish is clean and dry with only the faintest hint of hops.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy for the style with some soft carbonation.
This is fairly sweet version of a pilsener and extremely drinkable. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Dec 13, 2006 Draught. Pours clear light yellow with a small white creamy head, diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, cereal, roasted, meal), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of cooked cabbage and corn. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. Light bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation and bitter finish.
