(12 oz bottle) I don’t remember where I bought this bottle -- somewhere out in the middle of nowhere in Alaska -- but it’s a good one. While there’s no doubt that this amber lager is mildly sweet and caramely, I’m really liking that this beer isn’t nearly as sweet and caramely as many in this category, and so the toasty maltiness is able to shine under the spotlight of center stage. I’d say there’s even a very slight tartness to help keep the beer balanced and clean. The nose is quite toasty, and the sweetness is even less of a factor than it is in the flavor. It’s medium bodied, perfectly carbonated, and dry and clean on the palate, so this is something I could easily drink multiple bottles of without getting sick of the flavor or experiencing palate fatigue. Deep orange-amber body is also quite hazy, and it’s capped by a small, light-tan head that leaves no lacing as it settles to a broken filmy layer. Very tasty, very drinkable, quite enjoyable. I just might have to bring back more when I visit Alaska again.

Darkest lager I’ve ver seen (maybe that makes it a Vienna?) Sweet, a little hoppy, but a worthy brew from America’s northernmost brewery.

Clear amber hue. Mild aroma. Sweet toffe-ish palate, mild biscuity malt, nutty. Fairly moderate amber lager.

On draft at the Pumphouse in Fairbanks AK (don’t go to this restaurant by the way). Reddish amber with a thin head and very light caramel beer not unlike a light bodied Vienna. Kinda boring but well done.

Nice overall beer. Good color and good aroma. Not a huge lager fan, but this one was on that I could drink reguarly.

Clear copper body with a large, fluffy head. Light malty aroma. Full, malty body is toast and a little caramel. Low bitterness. Slightly creamy body. Excellent lager.

Pours with a dark copper, amber color and a decent head. Taste is very fresh and malty, though with fair bitterness not sweet. It’s one of those lagers that ale drinkers like.

Pours with a deep amber body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a slight caramel note and a slight bitterness. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a toasted nut note, a touch of caramel and a slight underlying bitterness. Light to medium bodied, smooth and a touch dry.
