The Silver Gulch Brewing Company is located in Fairbanks, Alaska and produces some very good beers that rival those of the Midnight Sun Brewing Company and the Alaskan Brewing Company. This one is no exception.

Completely headless. Other than that, this may be the best oktoberfest/marzen I’ve had. Best extremely cold, can’t notice the alcohol (told it was over 7%). Quite nice.

On tap at the 2003 Great Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Festival. Clear amber color with a thin white head. The taste was of thin sugar water, with not much else going on. Granted, I had been drinking ales (mostly barley wines) all day, so my palate may not have appreciated the nuances, so its probably better.
