This one is no exception. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

Sweet fruity flavor, mild coffee roast (very mild), lightly creamy chocolaty finish. Lacks what I want in a porter, seems like more of a brown. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 17, 2005 Bottle in the beautiful surroundings of Denali Nat’l Park AK. Poured into my plastic cup black and with a thin quickly dying tan head. Little aroma. The beer drinks crisp and clean with a light texture. There is a slight woody bitterness but it doesn’t come with much more of a porter character. AmazonMatt (285), Panama
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2005 Updated: May 8, 2007Sometimes, especially in the summer, and at social gatherings, porters can be too much. Not the case for this mild well balanced kindof sweet porter. This is a surprising beer, as many of the Silver Gulch offerings are not well balanced (but see the Fairbanks Lager). I had this a couple fo nights ago, so I don’t remember all of the details, but I would drink it again. Re-rate almost two years later, and I agree completely. Very easy going, let’s say a summer-weight porter. Glad I had this in Panama. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2004 Very dark brown in color. Mouthfeel was on the thin side, but not too bad. Soft and smoothly roasted (chocolate and coffee), sweet (sugared milk), and woody. Light hops. Bitterness in the finish complemented well. Pretty decent porter, but the texture seemed a little thin, and the flavors/aromas were rather mild. JPDIPSO (4923), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2004 Pour a thick brown color with a moderate tan head. Just a small amount of lace. Lighter aromas with some dark toffee, milk chocolate and subtle citrus. I'm glad the PWN hops do not come through. Some what silky in feel, but an acidic malt feel throughout. Borders on a brown ale. Light toasted malt and mild grapefruit hops. Could use more black malt to boost the flavors a touch (just my opinion). BBB63 (4238), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2004 Deep brwon with reddish highlights and a creamy tan head and very good lacing. The aroma hints of cashews, roasted cark malts, aromatic and grassy hops, dusty yeast esters, light milk chocolate and coffee. The taste is malty with a good dose of pine and bitterness undertones. Coffee and smoky notes detected on the finish. The mouthfeel is a tad thin, lively and smooth. A touch astringent as well. Overall a very nice porter with a bit more body could have been a palate killer. Slick (1962), Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA
