341 ml Bottle. Dark brown with a medium creamy off white head with good retention and average lacing. Aroma is dense dark malt, caramel and toffee with a bit of hops. Flavor is dark malt, toffee, metal, brown sugar, and a slight touch of hops in the final. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Alcohol is barely noticeable.

Dark brown pour with an odd semi sour, metallic aroma. The flavor is sour with some mild hops and more metal. This beer must have been off.

Thanks to HogTownHarry for sharing this with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Ruby red body with a lasting brown head. Aroma: Malt, caramel, vegetal, alcohol and a quirky something I just can’t quite identify. Flavour: Copper, battery, sharp malt, some bitterness and a long bitter metallic finish. Meh.

Bottle ( 341ml ). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with JulienHuxley. Slightly cloudy ruby-amber, long-lasting average creamy-foamy tan head. Dry, slightly tart aroma - some alcohol, dry spice and slightly sweet roast caramel malt. Taste is ... metallic, eventually a nutty sweet caramel taste emerges, but the metal is very off-putting. Average body, dry, lightly carbonated, with a longish metal/mineral linger. Something not quite right here.

Bottle: Clear Dark ruby with beige head med carbonation. NIce malt backbone. The finish is bitter and long. Carmel show in front then come chocolate. Excellent balance it’s easy to drink. It does finish dry.

[bottle] Quite sour, woody and dry aroma. Notes of banana and grape. Cloudy, dark orange-brown topped by a thin, beige blanket. Sour and nutty toffee flavour with some vegetal hops and chocolate notes. Mild bitterness and dry finish. Moderate carbonation.

341 ml bottle from Trappe a Fromage, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep copper, clear, rim of off-white. Aroma: Nice crunchy malts and rich herbals, once it sits for a bit, this is replaced by nasty, stinky organic acids, there is an infection here. Palate: Medium-ish body, moderate carbonation. Flav.: Mainly barfy with some malts still trying to cling to life; off-dry with an unpleasant bitterness and lingering gross organic acids and barfy fatty acid-like flavours.

Something’s wrong. Drain pour. Unfortunate.

341ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a small brown head. Nose is malty and hoppy. Some spices and caramel. Taste is malty, some caramel and spices. Finish is a bit of butterscotch, quite sweet and a bit hoppy. Notes of wood, oak and roasted malt. Alcohol quite discrete. Deception.

Bottle - 341ml. Superb hazy brown body with a lasting beige foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with woody and brown sugar hints. Taste is dominated by hoppiness and oaky notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Average Altbier.
