2,99$ for 341 ml bottle, 13,99$ for a 6-pack, which is quite reasonable for the quality of product you have here. Strong chocolatey aroma with herbal and coffeish notes. Intense taste in the same directions than the aroma but with a pronounced hoppiness, that seems somewhat citrusy; the hopping leaps this beer from very interesting to colossal, as it is very powerful and quite complex. Notes of wood and tannins, with an overall vinous character. Full-mouth long bitter and espresso-like aftertaste. Easily one of the best Quebec bottled imperial stouts ever; I never thought I’d start drinking Imperial stouts on such a regular basis but here it is...

Pours black with a minimal brown head leaves some lacing on the glass. Huge dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts in the aroma with the emphasis on dark chocolate. Taste is the same, lots of bitterness in the flavour, which makes sense givin the high IBUs. Really awesome for those who like dark chocolate, which makes up the bulk of the palate. A truly great beer.

Black with a tan head fastly disappearing. Nose of strawberry! A bit unexpected aromas, all on the estery side. Medium to full body, a little chocolate and roast malt, but there is a distracting fruity flavors. Something’s wrong here. Hard to put my finger on it, but I suspect a bad yeast or oxydized malt. Not a very enjoyable stout....

341 ml bottle bought at Peluso, November 17, 2009. Pure black, small brown head. Coffee malty aroma, rich and creamy. Bitter taste of coffee, some chocolate, well malted, aftertaste slightly bitter, very little sensation alcohol. A bit lighter than its original version (Bièropholie), but as tasty!

Bottle: Poured a deep pitch-black color stout with a large deep brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of deep black chocolate with a nice dose of espresso and some lightly bitter roasted malt. Taste is a very well balanced mix between some roasted malt with light dry notes and huge flavors of black chocolate and espresso – the balance between flavor is very impressive. Body is full with great creamy texture and good carbonation and no alcohol was apparent. I must admit to being quite surprised by this – very enjoyable without being too extreme.

Bottle. Pitch black pour with a brown-orange head. Lot’s of smokey aromas, chocolate and wood chips. Taste is quite smokey as well, woody. Creamy mouthfeel with lots of booze. Better than the bieropholie IS.

341ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Most of the head fades a bit fast. Too bad it didn’t stayed longer. Amazing look. Nose is BIG roasted malt. Some sweetness but mainly roasted. Tiny hint smokey. Taste is roasted malt and lots of dark bitter chocolate. It is quite bitter for a stout. Finish is quite dry and bitter. Some alcohol also. Notes of coffee. Palate is quite creamy and very rich. Carbonation is soft. Nose could be a little more effervescent. Powerful but still drinkable. Slight hint of butterscotch. Amazing beer !
