Clear orange to amber pour covered by a small white cover. Cane sugar, white grapes, litchi, bay leaves and orange come out of this malty, moderately aromatic , quite green IPA. Intense on the cerealic maltiness, making it a sweet, caramelized offering , at times bready, at times earthy. Old earthy oranges aromas accompany the finishing hops which provide a more than honest bitterness. As with the alt, this is not a particularly aromatic beer nor is it very refreshing. It’s fun to drink, but this high level of sweetness, which lasts in the finish, fighting it off with the bitterness, will certainly keep me from buying it by the 6-pack.

(Rating #2770)

Bottle - 341ml. Nice dark copper body with low carbonation and a thick off-white foamy head. Decent malty aroma with hoppy, flowery, and brown sugar hints. Well balanced hoppy taste that carries fruity and oaky notes. Ends with a long, robust bittersweet finish. Enjoyable IPA.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of floral hops with deep rich caramel malt is quite pleasing. Taste is also more oriented towards caramel malt and floral hops then most other IPA out there. Body is about average with good carbonation. This one is a lot more geared toward floral notes then an actual hops bomb I usually taste – well done and definitively something I could drink a couple in a sitting.

12 ounce bottle from Market Street Wine Shop, Uptown, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear copper color with a thin head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, toasted malts and leafy, citrus and floral hop notes. Taste is bitter resinous hops with slight metallic and citrus notes along with caramel malts. Tart finish. Medium bodied. Interesting.

Pours a clear amber color with a thin beige head. Nice aroma of floral, resinous hops, malt and caramel sweetness. Good flavor of resinous, floral hops, malt and caramel, there’s a solid presence of bitterness in the end. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. Well-done and enjoyable.

341ml Bottle: Aroma of earthy, resinous hops, and some malts. Poured deep amber/copper in color with a medium-sized, creamy, loose, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is light to medium bitter and slightly sweet. Tastes of malts, hops, resin, and hints if wood and pine. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Malt, hop, resin, and slight pine finish is lightly dry.
