Had a spicy aroma and sweet malt. Amber body with thin head and served in a plastic cup. Malt texture of this beer after drinking it just sat in the bottom of gut and the spice didn’t help the palate either. All in all not the best beer but just a malted sludge spice beer. undsioux7 (555), Cologne, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 11, 2007 On tap. This was a very thin tasting beer with not a whole lat going on. I was just happy to see this place after only seeing fat tire on tap as the only decent tap. Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 5, 2007 On tap: Clear, light amber. Frothy yet quickly thinning head. Malts were far too sweet, in my opinion (cereal, caramel, sugar water), though its caramel aromas were kind of nice. Hops were very mild (light flowers), providing only a mild bitterness (not enough to balance out the sweetness). Decently made beer, overall, but not a lot of depth and too sweet. unclemattie (2413), Georgia, USA

I didn’t notice. <rolls eyes> On tap at the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay. Poured a generic micro-brewish copper color with a paper thin white head that offered no lacing. The aroma was a bit of sweetness, no real spice. The flavor was thin with sweet corn coming through quite strongly. A metallic-microbrew finish. Uninspired. | 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 19, 2006 Updated: Apr 15, 2008I’ve had this twice since my original rating (see below), and both times it has failed to impress in any way. Bland and stinky, not even much in the way of sweet maltiness. Dirty lines may be part of the problem.
ORIGINAL RATING: I had Biersch’s Marzen the day before I tried this on tap at Sin City in the Aladdin shops area, and this plays out more like a straightforward amber ale by comparison. It is fairly full-bodied with lots of toffee malt flavour and a hint of apple fruit. Very good (3.4).
