Commercial Description:
Full-bodied and proud! This amber-hued lager may be an Octoberfest-style beer, but it is available to be enjoyed year round. A strong, robust micro-brewed lager, using imported 2- row Pale malt and 2 distinct Munich specialty malts, Sin City Amber balances its full-bodied, malt character with imported German Hallertauer hops.

Draft in Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas. Pours clear amber color with a moderate frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body with little carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of an average duration. My expectation where not met with a soft beer.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that was mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent typically carbonated copper orange colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was malty and sweet. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The thin metallic flavor contained notes of malt astringent and sweet. Not one that I would likely buy again.

Draught @ Flamingo hotel Sin City brewery. Large creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Light malty caramel, toasted and a hint of nutty notes. Over the palate a whiff of floral notes. Light bodied with an average carbonation. Light sweet flavor with a hint of bitterness. Light sweet malty finish.

Decent, but an average varietal that’s made simply as a marketing gimmic. Brewed by the Gordon Biersch guy and sold by a different dude. This is very much like the GB O-fest, but not as good and much lighter in character ... true amber with a quickly subsiding head. Mildly bitter with a crystal malt character.

On tap at Canter’s Deli in the Treasure Island Casino, Las Vegas, Nv. Fresh lake water aroma, medium orange pour with a soft white head. Some citrusy notes are found with a hint of caramel. Some ripening vegetable notes in the back end. Decently thick mouthfeel with some stickiness. Pleasant diversion.

On tap at Dick’s in Excalibur. Gold with a good head. Too much vanilla flavour. Additional notes of burnt nuts providing a bitter edge.

On tap: Clear, light amber. Frothy yet quickly thinning head. Malts were far too sweet, in my opinion (cereal, caramel, sugar water), though its caramel aromas were kind of nice. Hops were very mild (light flowers), providing only a mild bitterness (not enough to balance out the sweetness). Decently made beer, overall, but not a lot of depth and too sweet.
