Commercial Description:
Full-bodied and proud! This amber-hued lager may be an Octoberfest-style beer, but it is available to be enjoyed year round. A strong, robust micro-brewed lager, using imported 2- row Pale malt and 2 distinct Munich specialty malts, Sin City Amber balances its full-bodied, malt character with imported German Hallertauer hops.

According to tender this amber is an oktoberfest lager. Great use of malts slighlty sweet which added to balance. Crystal clear, copper with long lasting thick white head. served in plastic glasse3s in the mall below planet hollywood which used to be the alladin

draft at "pub"-call me crazy, or quality beer deprived being in vegas, but I enjoyed this. Crisp, flavorful malt with spices with some nice subtle earthy bitterness.

Sampled this one on draught at the Sin City Brewing Company, which is not a brewery, but a draught oulet in the Aladin Hotel and Casino’s Desert Passage Mall. The beer is actually brewed at Gordon Biersch Las Vegas. This beer is a marzen/Oktoberfest by style, and it is a decent, domestic example of one. Pours to a beautiful, bright, amber color, with a thick white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is inviting, with some nice aromas of toasty and nutty malt, paired with light hints of grassy hops. The palate is smooth and clean, with some good flavor of toasty and nutty malt. This beer finishes with more toasty and nutty malt up front, then ends with some good grassy hop bitterness to balance this beer out. A pretty straight foward example of marzen. Not the type of beer that is going to make a beer geek sit up and spin, but one a beer lover could enjoy. I would have liked a touch more malt character, but this being Vegas, and with the blazing heat, I enjoyed the fact that this beer was so drinkable, and still delivered some character and flavor. Worth a try if you are in Vegas.

Tap at Sin City. Nice easy sipping little marzen. Some sweet bock-like qualities. Pretty enjoyable.

Had on tap at the New York-New York. Nothing much to this beer. Reminded me of a macro amber....reddish orange color, thin off white head and medium bodied. Little aroma or actual taste, and the finish was okay. Nothing wrong with this beer, just nothing that stood out either. Ho-hum.

Sampled at Gordon Biersch at the Las Vegas Airport. Clear Bronze/copper, no head. Some malty aroma, with fresh bread flavors. Finishes with some very mellow hop bitterness.

On tap: Clear, light amber. Frothy yet quickly thinning head. Malts were far too sweet, in my opinion (cereal, caramel, sugar water), though its caramel aromas were kind of nice. Hops were very mild (light flowers), providing only a mild bitterness (not enough to balance out the sweetness). Decently made beer, overall, but not a lot of depth and too sweet.
