Commercial Description:
What’s Las Vegas without a little vice? Our traditional German Hefeweizen, Sin City Weisse, is an unfiltered, straw-colored wheat beer with a low hop profile that features a distinct clove aroma and citrus undertones. Originally a summer brew at 4.5% alcohol by volume, it’s a perfect fit for our Las Vegas climate.

Consumed on draft at Sin City bar in Las Vegas, 12/31/07. Cloudy, unusual amber/copper color. Low carbonation. Cloves in aroma, along with sweet banana. Flavor is more of same (yay!) and also has a little spice/pepper character at end. Far, far better than I expected! Only negative is that it is served as cold as a Bud Light from the draft; just ten degrees warmer and it would probably be amazing. I didn’t find out, as it tasted so good I downed it all before it warmed up! And best of all... NO LEMON!

22 april 07. on tap at the mall. Hazy orange color. nice foamy head. swet citrus aroma. lemons, honey, & wheat. yeasty flavor. hint of tartness. very light bodied and very refreshing. dry finish. very good hefe! The best one of the 4 Sin City Beers by far. I am not a Hefeweizen guy, but this was good!

On tap: Hazy yellow-orange. Lively carbonation; light and refreshing texture. Nice amounts of sweet banana and very faint clove. Pinch of soft pepper, too. Mild bitterness was on the light side, but it provided a nice balance. Malts were grainy-sweet and wheaty. I actually enjoyed this beer. Perhaps a wee bit too sweet for my buds, but it kind of surprised me.

This little cubby-hole micro-brew and retailer is in the shopping arcade portion of the Aladdin hotel and casino (soon to be the Planet Hollywood hotel and casino). They offer 4 brews, and this one is by far the best. A very true-to-style hefe, it is hazy light orange-amber with a robust head. Typical aroma of banana, vanilla, bready yeast and clove that spill over onto the wheaty palate. Very refreshing, well balanced, and delicious.

Enjoyed this one on draught at the Sin City Brewing Company, which is really just a draught beer oulet for Sin City beers, located in the Desert Passage, which is the shopping/mall area of the Aladin Hotel and Casino, on the Vegas Strip. Sin City beers can also be found in many restaurants and casinos in Vegas. The beers are actually brewed at Gordon Biersch Las Vegas. Sin City’s brewer/owner is a GB alum , and GB rents out space and brewing times for him to do Sin City brews. Stylistically, this beer is a very credible, very accurate Bavarian hefeweizen, and a great beer to enjoy in the blazing Vegas heat. Sin City Weisse pours to a very opaque and cloudy, light golden color, with a tall, rocky white head, and a vibrant carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent with lots of good, funky aromas of clove, and banana. The palate is firm, with lots of good tart wheat flavors, paired with estery, flavor of melon, and pear. This beer finishes with more tart and thirst quenching wheat flavor up front, then ends with a spicy, clove, and yeasty finish that linger. A nice hefeweizen, one that was very welcome after walking the strip. Vegas isn’t known for its craft beer choices, so I for one was very happy to get this beer, and really enjoyed it.

Draught at Sin City. Wow this was much better than anticipated. Nice cloudy golden pour with a big white head that hung around. Big aroma of cloves, banana and some sugar. The mouthfeel was almost creamy. Just enough spice to balance things out. I went back later in the night to get another one of these.

Draft at PH, Las Vegas . Poured cloudy yellow color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate banana, clove and citrus aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet flavor with a solid sweet wheat finish of moderate duration. Good refreshing brew.
