Aroma is standard lager, a big dissappointment for a Xmas brew...Flavour is caramelmalts and big hoppyness. Some metallic and grassy hints also... Not very christmassy... TBone (6790), Pori, Finland

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 3, 2004 Updated: Nov 21, 2006(Bottled, 2006 version) Clear, dark, reddish amber color with a quite large, foamy and lacy head. Slightly sweet, berryish aroma of red currants and toffeish malt (slightly similar to recent Mallaskoski brews). Some mild, buttery maltiness, too. Sweetish berry flavor with medium, stuffy bitterness, and a dry finish. Light to medium-bodied, slightly sweet and quite carbonated palate with slight acidity. Sweet and thin "xmas" brew. Wonder what’s with the berries this year...
(Bottled, 2005 version, was 4-4-5-3-9=2.5) Clear, dark nut brown color with a medium, tight and tanned, lacy head. The aroma is initially quite sweet with lots of toffee, but it quickly fades into mild, somewhat metallic and roasty bitterness. Quite bitter, toffeeish, roasted-malty flavor with a sweet toffee finish. Light to medium-bodied, a bit foamy-carbonated and sticky palate. Clearly more full, toffeeish and balanced than the previous year’s version. Not bad, but still a bit harshly sweet-caramely.
(Bottled, 2004 version, was 2-3-3-2-7=1.7) Quite nice, clear darkish amber color with a medium, creamy and lacy head. Very, very mild, aroma - can’t even tell what it’s like. Metallic, slightly roasted, thin flavor with a harshly bitter finish. Moderately bitter, dry dinish. Light-bodied, quite watery, medium-carbonated palate. A reasonably good-looking, but odorless and pretty tasteless, watery and cheap "christmas" brew. saxo (3604), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark
