Commercial Description:
Sinebrychoff Kaura is blond, non-filtered bottom yeast beer, made by combining two rarely used malts, barley and oat. The product has been seasoned with a hint of honey. The taste of Kaura is fresh and fruity and a little sweet, due to the addition of honey. The aftertaste is long and softly refreshing. Honey-oat beer is best when served at a temperature of 8-12 degrees. As it is non-filtered, honey-oat beer contains more Betaglucane (a soluble fibre necessary for digestion) than other beers. Kaura honey-oat beer contains over 1000 mg/l of the fibre, when the average amount in beer is 50 mg/l. Original gravity: 11 %Pl, Colour: 10,5 EBC, Bitterness: 15 EBU.

Bottled. Hazy yellow, foamy head. Honey and a bit of alcohol in aroma. Honeyish caramellish sweet flavour. Something between oily and sticky mouthfeel.

Bottled. Golden colour. Distinct honey aroma. Sweet and lightly bready. Honey overpowers everything that’s possibly beneath.

(Bottled) Hazy golden color with a medium, foamy, lasting and nicely lacy head. Sweet, but quite natural aroma of honey. The flavor is also sweet and very honeyish, with low bitterness and very little room for the oat. Medium-bodied, quite thick and syrupy palate with medium carbonation. There’s certainly more than a "hint" of honey in this one! Not that bad in small doses, despite the sweetness. (Bottled, was 5-2-5-2-9=2.3) Slightly hazy, paleish golden color with a medium, quite thick and tight head. Strong, sweet honey completely dominates the aroma. Sweetish honey flavor almost completely hides the oat, but the taste is quite pleasant and balanced. Light to medium-bodied, sticky and sugary palate with medium, quite soft carbonation. There is the same characteristic, chocolatey aroma in this, the 4.1 and the Vahva Pääsiäisolut - don’t know it it’s the yeast or what. A quite drinkable and respectable effort from Sinebrychoff. I hope this one stays in production longer than the Weizze.

Slightly cloudy and yellow color, middle sized but vanishing head. Aroma has some honey, can’t find anything else there. Honey dominates also the taste, not much of a barley or an oat. Strong carbonation affects to palate but also makes beer to be refreshing. Easy drinkable and refreshing, but nothing special.
