Light dry Thai lager, mostly a malt beer with little hop notes. Tea like base. Whent well in the context of the Thai Restaurant, not sure of how it would be on its own. Fruity, slightly hoppy aroma. Light and fruity, a decent lager but not hoppy enough to be called pilsener. Might go down well with spicy or chinese food. omhper (12244), Stockholm, Sweden
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 22, 2003 Bottled. Pale golden with small head. Fruity, lightly grassy nose. Clean, rounded maltiness and some light hoppy bitterness. Better than the regular Singha. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Dec 4, 2003 I bought this beer by accident! Thought it was stronger than a normal Singha (because of the "gold" in the name). The beer is really just a typical lager and a descent one (I guess most lagers are descent when you drink them in 30+ celcius!!!). No a lot to it. wulfhere (217), Billings, Montana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 11, 2003 Thank God for "Singgold". This beer got me through a month in Thailand, because other than Singha Gold, I never found a beer here that didn't suck enormously.
White head with fine bubbles, but it disappears too fast. No lace to speak of.
Nose is mildly of lemon, tin and BandAids--not a bit of hops or malt.
The taste of Singha Gold is not as offensive as its big brother, so it tastes like a slihtly skunky corona or a bottle of Strohs gone bad. But it goes down alright when you just can't face another Singha.
The main problem with this beer was getting most barmaids to understand that you wnated Singha Gold and not Singha--about 3/4 of the time you got a Singha anyway.
