Sint Canarus Tripel

Clear yellow with a big but rapidly disappearing white head. Aroma of Lemon Pledge. Full bodied, faint grapefruit taste with a solidly bitter edge and finish.

(33cl bottle) Large beige head that yields lovely lacing atop yeast-flecked hazy amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, doughy, some bubblegum, orange, banana. Taste is medium sweet, dough/bread, some candi sugar, light alcohol astringency. Watery medium body.

330ml Bottle: Aroma of yeast, menthol, malts, and a hint of vegetables. Poured golden-amber in color with a medium-sized, white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small and medium-sized particles throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of yeast, herbs, vegetables, light pale malts, grains, and a bit of hops. Medium body. Average texture. Average to lively carbonation. Vegetal, malt, finish. 7.5%ABV is undetectable.

Bottle. Aroma yeasty with lots of yellow/orange fruits, biscuit malt, floral character. Flavor continues to be quite yeasty with pepper and clove notes as well as practically yogurt undertones (all appropriate), with strong biscuit malt and balancing floral bitterness. Quite tasty.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy light orange with a thick white head. Aroma of sweet fruits (apple, pear, strawberry), jam, light spices, and yeast. Flavor is peppery/spicy upfront with a yeasty finish. Flavor is not quite as nice and fruity as the aroma, but it’s still quite nice. I like this one a lot -- it’s much better than the ratings suggest. 8/4/7/4/15 (3.8/5)

11.2oz bottle from Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pours clear golden, capped with a huge frothy white head. Floral aroma, with some yeast and fruit. Flavor is fruity, with yeast, pepper, wheat, and some spice. Finishes with plum, pepper and spice. Simple, but very drinkable.
