33cl Bottle from Achelse Kluis, ABV 7.1%. Clear ruby brown colour, dense light beige head. Aroma of brown sugar and sweet malts, some alcohol. Flavour is sweet, malty, some dark fruits, brown sugar, light chocolate bitter finish with some alcohol. A bit thin in mouthfeel, light to medium bodied. OK, but no more than that.

Dark amber color. Yeasty with esters of apples and pears. Spicy yet light. Not that great on the palate. The hop characteristic comes through. Not very cleverly brewed. Totally out of balance.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Clear brown ruby colour thick beige head. Bit of gravy browning on this dubbel. Some ok rich dryish malts. But if anything a bit too much on the malts and it makes it a bit sickly. Yes, it is almost as though not fully attenuated. I don’t think that is the case, but there is some definite puke in the malts though. Bit too gassy and not really my kinda dubbel. Prefer something much drier or more vinous.

Brown coloured beer with large off-white head and lots of carbonation. Fruity malty aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is bitter malty.

Bottled in Bree with ON4IA. Dasrk brown color, with off-white head, which disappears quickly. Nose has caramel and roasted malt. Aroma is the same. The flavour is malty with remaining bitterness.

33cl. bottle at home: Pours a hazy dark copper with almost no head, just a thin wispy tan film. Sweet caramel nose with traces of wet newspaper and a touch of roast (without and burnt qualities). Plum and fig jam and raw cane sugar come in stronger as time goes by. Initially it is quite sweet when it hits your tongue. Again, caramel and cane sugar. The light roast that was noticeable on the nose comes in and starts to dry it out. The carbonation is quite high and takes the roast towards a cola flavor. CO2 can be biting at times. Sugar comes back in but not as heavy. Mixes with rum soaked raisins and plum liquer and rides to a long finish with touches of cola. Gets a big heavy with the rum raisin and some cardboard towards the end of the glass.

Dark red-brown colored with cloudy appearance. Medium sized light brown head. Chocolate and grains in sweet aroma, mild raisins also here. Medium bodied. Flavor is more grainy with sweetness still dominating. Aftertaste dries mildly with some alcohol and raisins. Well, basic one.

Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, raisin, plum, cane sugar notes, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholc. (110708)
