JK54B (385), Finland Sep 14, 2008 Dark brownish colour. Strong malty taste. Also some hints of lemon. Also some sweetness. A bottle tasted at Pikkulintu. arjoseph (557), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 10, 2008 Bottle into tulip, ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam (3/2008). Porty and meady, wonderful floral honey character. Full, rich body with a patina of carbonation at the beginning. Finish is lingering flowers, sweetness, and a bit of mint. Smells of light malt and dark honey and molasses. Large fizzy head that’s lasting. This had me thinking a little bit about Hoegaarden Gran Cru and Stille Nacht, but much more honey-dominated than the latter. I hope I’m posting in the right place, because I’m flabbergasted that no one else likes this. My bottle said Shijndels Birre Bier, so I think I’m in the right place. Odd. Maybe I’m just a sucker for the style... Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Nov 28, 2007 Considering the style, Scores ranging from 1 to 5, 5 being the most intense

Comments: Sweet, strong, spicey, honeyed ale that plays in too many fields at once and fails to unify all those flavours.
altonbrownd (999), Amsterdam, Netherlands Nov 13, 2007 Bottle from Bier Koning. Light chocolate colour. Malty aroma. Sweet, and very strong brandy-almost taste of alcohol. A bit sour. The taste of honey is very hard to place. Perhaps when it warms up a bit? Some taste of chocolate. Sweetish finish. FatPhil (2367), Espoo, Finland Sep 5, 2007 330ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki)
Murky brown, little head. Very sweet, hugely malty aroma. Toasted rye bread, but a little alcoholic. Unsubtle, but quite a nice punch in the face. Where’s the honey?
