(Draft: Six Rivers Brewery in McKinleyville, CA) This is a pretty pale looking stout. It’s mahogany in color, but somewhat translucent and certainly lighter in color than the porter. It smells somewhat roasty, but actually more toasty than anything. Though billed as an Irish stout, it is a dry, toasty, and very chocolaty stout with a modest smokiness and a noticeable hop flavor, and is certainly less roasty than most Irish stouts. Medium "plus" body seems about right for the amount of flavor the beer possesses. The light tan head gradually fades away to a rim, leaving some patchy lacing on the glass. Overall, a nice stout, a different interpretation of the Irish style for sure, but enjoyable in its own right.

standard, decent dry stout. powder coffee aroma, tastes like porridge and cream mixed with chocolate and then seriously watered down

Tap@Six Rivers. Pretty refreshing to have this one after the Chilli beer, but still a bit too timid for a stout, lightly acidic, reasonably dry, hints of coffee and chocolate.
