Bottle. Murky, copper color with an ivory head. Strange vinegar-like nose, almost smells like brett. Malty and sour with some apple notes. I think this bottle may be infected but it’s still pretty nice!

Bottle from rkuhnel I think a while back. Has been in the fridge the whole time. I thought this was going to be a lot worse, and while it is a bit milky and slightly old tasting, it is not gravely flawed at all. Not much in the way of hops, just some very minor British and American notes, and it has a biscuity, slightly funky donut finish. Pretty easy drinking. Really can’t find much to complain about, honestly. Maybe a little soapy.

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Pours a hazy amber color with a slight white head. Yeah, there is a doggy aspect to the aroma, but there’s some hop underneath. Medium body with firm carbonation. There’s some caramel, some citrus and a bit of hot spice. Finishes quite dry/astringent. Becomes quite tasty after awhile. Dog left.

Bottle. Amber beer with an off-white head. Grapefruit and malt aroma. Big grapefruit flavor with some floral qualities. Medium body. Grapefruit lingers with some floral and possibly some medicinal notes. I keep trying to figure out if this is infected.. and I keep changing my mind. Big hop flavor without much bitterness.

Tasted at Hops in Humboldt 2007 in a four ounce glass. This was a clear amber color with a medium white head and moderate lacing. Nose of light malts and floral hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor of malts and hops in good balance. Nothing fancy but very easy to drink.

26-Feb-08 (12-oz bottle: Purchased 23-Dec-07 for $1.99 at the Pizza Port Bottle Shop in Carlsbad, CA) Now in bottles, this beer features an entry of lightly toasty malts that is quickly joined by very floral and somewhat earthy hops. Bitterness is fairly strong, but not intense or harsh, and lends a long-lasting crispness to the finish. I can’t say I’m particularly a fan of the floral character of the hops though. Floral hop aroma is bright and more apparent than the background malts. Body is medium on the palate and carbonation is medium as well. The beer is amber in color and perfectly clear; I can read a book while looking straight through the center of this beer. Off-white heading is a bit small on the pour and soon settles to a filmy layer. It’s a generic but well-made pale ale that would deserve style points in judging, but the floral aspect just doesn’t grab me.

05-Aug-05(Draft: Six Rivers Brewery in McKinleyville, CA) Your basic medium bodied American Pale Ale, moderately malty, lightly sweet, with a pleasant, mildly bitter hops for excellent balance up front, and then the hops picks up a bit for a nice, clean finish. The balanced nose is mildly malty with a pleasant hop aroma. Amber color, perfectly clear, with an off-white head that retains a thin but intact layer atop the beer and deposits a spider web of lace on the glass. Nice, easy drinking pale ale, well crafted without being showy. (7, 3, 6, 3, 13 =3.2)

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy citrus aroma with some hints of pine needles. Sweetish malty hoppy citrus flavor. Has a sweetish malty hoppy citrus finish.
