I was fortunate enough to get a small glass of this direct from the cask while on an impromptu brewery tour. Thank you, generous brewer. Nice mellow vanilla tones, and good balance of sweet and bitter. Complex and restrained hop flavor left me wondering which hops were included.

Bourbon and mild hopped vanilla show through with a big lack of hops. Bitter and herbal palate that shows big wood and grass notes. Slightly sweet with a big mouthfeel.

Draft at the Bistro’s 1st Barrel-Aged Beer Fest 11/11/06; Nose of mild hops and oak; hazy amber with a ring of bubbles around the glass; flavor shows hops mixed with a bit of bourbon, and a nice hop finish in the medium body.
