Nov 28, 2007 Smells like someone farted after eating really hot chile. The chiles taste as if someone pored liquid spiced PVC into this beer. Hot and undrinkable.

Aug 25, 2007 At Hops in Humboldt 2007 this was a whopper. Looks like a normal yellow beer until you put it under your nose. Then there is no question this is a pepper beer. Mouthfeel is actually quite decent, however and pepper is what this tastes like. You are not even sure it is beer. Remarkable for its type, however, and while it is a bit of a novelty, it is actually decent to drink.

Oct 16, 2006 Draft. Murky yellow color with a white whip for a head. Spicy aroma. Flavor is spicy and too hot on the palate in my opinion (and I LOVE hot chili)

Jul 7, 2006 Pours a hazy straw color with a minimal white head. Aroma of bready malt and tabasco sauce. The taste starts sweet and malty, but finishes like there’s a shot of tobasco sauce in my rather small glass. Lingering burn after the swallow. Maybe this would be tolerable when paired with a cheese pizza, but not so much fun by itself,

Aug 25, 2005 (Draft: Six Rivers Brewery in McKinleyville, CA) Oh boy, here we go. My only other chili beer that I can recall drinking was totally undrinkable, a beer for macho guys trying to outdo each other. The nose on this chili beer says, "Drinker beware!" I can smell the chili peppers before the glass gets within a foot of my nose, and a more detailed attempt at discerning the aroma yields only bushels of chilis. One small sip, and I’m instantly afraid that drinking any more will totally kill my palate. It’s very spicy and hot, and while not totally unpleasant, I don’t think I can drink this beer. I like hot and spicy food, but not hot and spicy beer. It doesn’t burn while I hold the beer in my mouth, but as soon as I swallow, my mouth is on fire. Medium straw in color, slightly hazy, but I think the chili killed the head, which is non-existent. This may be a GABF silver medal winner, but you have to like chili beers to enjoy this one. I guess as chili beers go, this is pretty good, but I find it undrinkable and unpleasant.
