There is a carmel and almost candy flavor to this great beer. argo0 (7032), Washington DC, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 15, 2005 (bottled). Big malty nose with woody hop undertones. Cloudy, deep copper/orange color with thin head and low carbonation. Big, rich malt flavor with subtle caramel underneath in a big-bodied package is followed by firm bitterness and peppery alcohol that is well matched to balance without overwhelming the malt. Smooth finish with lingering hop bite and a wonderful subtle orange twist. Thanks for the drop-off, Dan! fakepurseninja (797), Washington, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 25, 2008 To sum it up: I beg to differ. Wonderful, cloudy amber profile with bits of hops floating around. Big biscuit malt proflie with a strong caramel sweetness along with generous amounts of toffee and honey. Hops are also in abundance with a huge floral pine and orange citrus presence. A litte oily and astringent, alcohol definetly present. A fantastic IPA, borderline IIPA, that must rank among the best for those available in sixers. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2006 Bottle. Murky copper color with a white wisp. Hoppy aroma with grapefruit, orange and pine notes. Malt forward but balanced and bitter. A very nice IPA. cathcacr (594), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Not an intense IPA, but delicious. Aroma . . . is it Fuggles? Maybe it’s really Fuggles! Some buttermilk-biscuity-malty aroma dimensionality as well, though mild. Beautiful big head, big lacing, creamy delivery (a little watery on the end), Fuggles flavor profile. Fuggles = yum. Please tell me it’s Fuggles.
Currently playing: Radiohead, "Fake Plastic Trees." Great, that just threw the whole rating off.
