For that matter smells like French Roast. Shucks, tastes like French Roast. If you like your Porter to take lile coffee this is the one. I like Porter as just that so I have to rate this as coffee royale. Good though. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA

Flavor is boldly dominated by coffee and espresso and it’s suave and fairly complex, with a nice base of malt. Nice finish and overall, quite tasty. anders37 (4658), Malmö, Sweden

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2008 GABF sample bottle. Poured a deep brown color with some dark red highlights around the edges and a thin beige head that faded to a ring. Aroma of coffee grounds, expresso, some dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Smooth, somewhat thing entry with some dark chocolate leads into a nice roasted coffee flavor with some expresso and a touch of vanilla bean. Finishes moderately sweet with some coffee undertones. Low carbonation, smooth but a bit thin on the palate. Overall, a nice surprise.
