bitbucket (1455), Kirkland, Washington, USA Apr 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy blackish brown with a tan head. Medium body and carbonation. Soft chocolate and coffee nose. The taste is just messed up. Not sure if infection is at work, or if this is just poorly constructed. Burnt finish.
after4ever (1629), Brier, Washington, USA Mar 31, 2008 12-oz. Thanks, BitBucket! Black. Thin tan rim. Big wet cigarette ash nose. Creamy, oily body. Ashy, slightly smoky mid-palate. Mild ashy finish. Not unlike drinking blackened canola oil out of a dirty ashtray. Angeloregon (1488), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 2, 2008 From a 12-oz. bottle purchased at John’s Marketplace in Portland, Oregon--Poured a mahogany-brown body with a soft, rocky grayish head. Nose of sweet yeast and malts. Nice hopped and chocolate complexity. Creamy mouth feel indicative of British yeast. A little chocolate and nuttiness made this pair excellent with dark chocolate. Yum! troopie (430), USA Feb 16, 2008 Bottle. Poured black with speedy tan head. Much lacing. Aroma of toast and dutched cocoa. Flavour of malt and some chocolate. Thin to medium body. Thin finish with a little more chocolate. DA (2252), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jan 31, 2008 Solid roasty, dark chocolate porter. Black body with a soft khaki head.
