Gethinbeer (1001), Nova Scotia, Canada Oct 14, 2009 Thanks JoeMcphee for this lovely growler. Muddy, cloudy appearance. Thin white head. Honey wheat, caramel aroma. Smooth rich texture. Flavour like honey on toast. I like that a lot but maybe bot so much in a beer. Nice but nothing to write home about. haukur (682), Reykjavik, Iceland Sep 1, 2009 had this on a hot afternoon on my 29th birthday at the Ginger Man. Very hoppy aroma with orange and yeasty tones. Citrus and hop bite on the palate. Nice american wheat! jredmond (1027), New Jersey, USA Aug 25, 2009 Sampled this briefly at Ginger Man in NYC. My buddy, Pwn3d, ordered this sucker and insisted that I try it. Pours a beautifully hazy body with small white head. The aroma is strangely enough very close in resemblance to Old Spice... other than that, the aroma boasts a wonderfully complex voyage of wheat and hop. The flavor is not bitter at all like the aroma suggests. There are strong notes of citrus, wheat, and lemon. Great wheat beer. Pwn3d (1049), Manhattan, New York, USA Aug 23, 2009 Draft at Gingermans NYC. Wheaty aroma mixed with some interesting musky aromatics which I could only describe closest to Old Spice deodorant. Murky looking orange body. Taste was deeply wheat, some funk, clove, and citrus. One of the finer wheat ales out there IMO. blipp (1637), Newark, New Jersey, USA Aug 19, 2009 Draft. Pours unclear golden orange with an off white head. Wheaty aroma with some citric hints. The flavor has some lemony citrus up front, wheat, and some light grainy notes in the finish. Decent. adrian910ss (1400), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 30, 2009 On draft at SD. Pours a murky caramelwith a creamy beige head. Aroma of light tangy citrus, grains and bitter hops. Taste of mellow tangy citrus, bitter hops and a touch of grain. Rciesla (3560), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jun 27, 2009 Draft. Hazy orange body with a white head. Lots of citrus and wheat, spicy clove notes bubblegum banana esters and a lemon grass finish. Decent Wheat. JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 1, 2009 Growler into Sam Adams Lager glass.
Pours a hazy orange-gold, with a full, creamy off-white head and some delicate lacing.
Nose is floral, a bit citrusy, with some dry, pale malt coming through as well.
Taste is mild and drinkable - lightly citrusy, floral hops over a light, dry biscuity malt body. A bit piney. It’s really hard to peg this as a wheat beer, I’m just not getting that from underneath the hops. Finish is gentle, a very light lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied, a bit undercarbonated, but that may be from the growler delivery.
