hophead75 (1667), Boonton, New Jersey, USA May 4, 2008 So I guess I am another person who rated this a 3.6, purely by coincidence. Hazy amber in color- looks like murky apple cider. Aroma- some yeasty esters and phenolics, as well as some citrus, apple. Taste is pretty hoppy with some citrus and floral, some yeasty esters as it warmed (banana), light phenolics, and some nice sublte rye character. Finishes with lingering hop bitterness and yeast phenolics. Overall pretty nice. jjpm74 (2926), Connecticut, USA Apr 23, 2008 750ml growler bottle courtesy of goldtwins. Pours a hazy amber with a nice tan head. Smells of citrus, wildflowers, some dough. Tastes earthy and lightly bitter with a nice citrussy finish. HailSquishface (13), Ferndale, Michigan, USA Apr 1, 2008 Got this in a trade with Sixpoint.
Poured a dark ruby with a huge long lasting creamy off-white head into my Kuhnhenn tulip. Leaves a lot of lacing.
Smells of bread, caramel, flowery, and citrus.
First tastes are sweet, fruity, spicy rye, followed by grassy, citrus bitterness.
Meduim bodied with a dry finish. beastiefan2k (1108), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Nov 20, 2007 I guess I will stick with the mode rating (completely coincidental). The beer is a dark amber color with a small sticky head. Aroma actually has something new for a Sixpoint beer, not a completely hoppy beer. There is a sweet spiciness that I attribute to the rye, like a lightly phenolic-y wheat. This is actually as strong if not stronger than the usual hop aromas of citrus and thick sweet floral tea. Taste combines the two aspects, with a reduction in the rye presence. The beer is sort of a light assault on the senses with the strong rye and strong hops. This was probably the best Sixpoint experience I had in a while. Tap at Blind Tiger, served in tulip glass. PhillyHomeBrew (170), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 20, 2007 Very dark brown body with a thick cap of head. The aroma is citrusy chinook scent of lemons and orange. The flavor has a bit of lemon as well. ____ Puck in NYC.
