| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Draft at Rattle N Hum, NYC. Deep brown body with frothy tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, coffee, caramel, toffee. Not much hop nose, just a hint of resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. There is a slight taste in the finish that reminds me of rye, but must be the particular combination of hop and roast bitterness. Medium body, velvety texture, at least in the beginning, lively carbonation. Easy to drink, but average sweet stout. nimbleprop (951), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA

Aroma of sweet dark caramel malts with a fresh piny resiny hop balance and some roastiness. Starts with pretty good fullness and lightly sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts with a nice grapefruity hop flavor. Finishes drier and bittersweet with a touch of roasty coffee. A pretty nice sweet stout. LilBeerDoctor (1543), East Setauket, New York, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 5, 2009 A Sim rate (on tap at Spitzer’s Corner): Sweet vanilla aroma. Subtle enough that it’s not overwhelming with a slight bitter chocolate note. Bitter chocolate again in the flavour with a real roastiness. There’s a nice kick in the finish. It’s the epitome of a stout... the way it should be. Nice full flavour in the finish. Yum.
