A nice copper ale with a thin big bubbled off white head. In aroma, pleasant caramel malt with nice toffee notes, and a bit of sweet coffee. In mouth, a nice smooth malt with torrefied notes, very British hops, lingering metallic notes, medium bodied. Cask at Syracuse Real Ale Festival, Oct. 25 2009.

Amber color. Dusty caramel aroma with shades of hops. Smooth, with strong caramel flavor, light roasted malt and rye; the flavor as well is a bit dusty. There is some good hopping. The final, well bitter, gets a bit dry. Good.

Luminescent peach amber color supporting a crisp cream head. Easy grainy aroma with appealing floral hop character. Crisp rye and sour mash flavorings piqued with a floral hop twang.

Clear dark orange with no head or carbonation. Looks like a Real/cask ale. The aroma is a seriously grainy strong ale. What a smell! Has some bitter hops underneath, but they are completely overwhelmed by the tidal wave of grainy, unrefined barley. Unique, to say the least. Extreme grassy, earthy smell. Ok so here goes.... Strong, strong ale flavor, with lots of bitter grainy rye malt. Cross between a barleywine and a strong ale. Hints of sweet caramel/molasses, and a bitter oaky hop. Pure pumpernickel rye. Has notes of bubblegum. Feels chewy and a bit gritty. Really really thick; sandpaper. Almost layer upon layer of challenges. It’s merciless. A unique, brutal beverage. Repeats are simply not an option. It’s an onslaught of harsh rye, grain, oak and grass. Quite the hard drink.

Draft at Rattle N Hum. Pours amber and clear, fluffy head. Nose is fruity, cherries, spicy rye notes (albeit mild). Taste has distant notes of rye, more of the fresh cherries and citric hops. Finishes pretty dry slight rye spiciness. Nice.

Appearance: amber shade with tea hints , mid creamy top.
Nose: frontal aromatic , meadow citric , floral with touch of rye. 7+
Flavor/Palate : Hmm. Good mid full bodied with neatly presented rye feel. Aromatic hops on top have good matching partner. Late bittering feel. Very pleasant, smooth rye ale.

Draft. Pours amber orange with an off white head. Sweet malty aroma with some spicy flourishes. The flavor has rye and sweet malts. Not quite enough hops, but the hops that are there add a nice floral quality to add to the rye. Enjoyable.
