Aroma is very light, some roast. Barely anything in the flavor as well, it’s almost as if this was the light version of a brown; there is some light roasted malt and nutiness, bleh. Thin and watery. This might be the worst brown I’ve every had. NobleSquirrel (1120), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 1, 2008 A very English tasting version as it seemed to be dominated by the maltiness of the Munich malt with a minimal hop character. Mediocre. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Updated: Jan 15, 2009Pours a dark brown with a medium foamy beige head. Smells metallic and malty like keg beer. Some dark malt lays the base for vinegar like nuttiness. Burnt bitter finish. Fizzy carbonation. I don’t know about this stuff.
[Wow! bottle found in the back of my fridge from Sep 2007 - still has a huge amount of carbonation... they do an amazing job bottling I guess, flavors are much better now, malts more complex hehe, darker, sweeter, roastier. This beer just needs age! ] troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 24, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a brown color with a huge tan head and almost a gushing bottle. Aroma of toffee and other lighter malts. Astringent malty flavor includes some chocolate and possibly some sweet hazelnut or vanilla. Light palate and very overcarbonated. Maybe I had a bad bottle, but I was rather disappointed. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 19, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Deep mahogany pour with a massive (too large?) tan head that leaves some good lace. Aroma has light roasted malt, some distant chocolate, and maybe some vanilla. Seems a little thin, but not overly carbonated as I feared after seeing the head. Balance favors the malty sweetness which subdues the soft bitterness that comes on at the end, and fades very quickly. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2008 A beutiful pour. Dark brown with a thick tan head and some nice lacing. Aroma is rich with malt, chocolate, hops and nuts. Flavor isn’t as deep as the aroma. There are hints of chocolate and coffee. Nothing nutty whatsoever, though. A very drinkable brown ale.
