Commercial Description:
This Brown Ale has a touch of nuttiness provided by our good friends Mr. and Mrs. Victory and Munich Malt. The addition of Northern Brewer, Cascade, and Willamette hops smooth this beer out to create an incredibly drinkable Brown Ale.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Old hops.
Appearance: Clear, dark amber brown with a creamy beige head.
Flavor: Tastes a lot like cheap homebrew. Some chocolate malt comes out toward the finish. The finish is dry and slightly roasty.
Palate: Medium body.
Overall: Not so good. Quite difficult to get down.

Bottle: Deep brown, fairly dark, moderate frothy light beige head, light lacing.   Nutty aroma, earthen malts, roasty, with a bit of cocoa.   Pale roasted malts, minor nuttiness, somewhat sweet, with very light pale fruit skin on the finish.   Very low hop profile, with a underlying sour aspect that is very subtle.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Slightly bitter cocoa lingers, accompanied by a very soft sourness.   Not half bad, better than what I expected based on its average.

This is a straight forward brown ale. It has an aroma of roasted nut and malt and the flavor is similar with the addition of over cooked coffee. It is smooth in the mouth but just a bit syrupy. There is no carbonation and it is possible I have a flat sample. Flavor is also somewhat muted.

Pours deep brown/red with thin tan head. Aroma is that of coffee and roasted nuts. Flavor contains malts, roasted nut, and a bit of a burnt coffee (black malt maybe?). There were no noticable hops. The burnt flavor lingers a little but not too long. A ho-hum brown ale.

Pint @ Tyler’s/Durham. Ok nose, lite nutty, cardboard, caramel. Clean orangy brown color, good head & lacing. Bitter flavor, sharp nutty/roastiness dominates, caramel/chocolate is secondary, but noticable. Medium body, lite creamy mouthfeel, bitterdry finish. Huh, a gold medal for this one? Don’t see what sets this above other browns I’ve had. Oh well.
