| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Bomber, pours a med/dark amber with some thin off-white head. Aroma is restrained resiny, citrus and pine hops, some caramel. Flavor is some orange and grapefruit muted by an overtly sweet caramel malt base, finishes with a fair bitterness. Points for hiding the alcohol fairly well, medium carbonation, slightly sticky feel. Hops flavor and aroma tuned down more than I’d like. bleeng (600), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 17, 2009 On tap at Papago Scottsdale AZ 1/12/09. Filtered with a nice, dark coppery color-promising. No head as it came out of the tap very cold. Nose was minimal. Doesn’t seem to be overally hopped given the 95 IBU’s. Nice malt background balances this beer. Overall a bit dry and not the hop bomb I was expecting. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells resiny and citrussy. Tastes bitter with some citrissy hints and a spicy finish. FlssmrBrewAlum (1186), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2009 12 oz glass poured on tap at The Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Pours a deep dark copper with just a hint of haze with small offwhite head. Aromas are decent citrusy hops and carmel malt backbone, reserved but there. A touch underwhelming. Initial is lighter on hoppiness than expected, some decent piney resinous qualities and some nice grapefruit. Malt backbone is strong, carmel and toffee sweet qualities and a light boozy presence. Decent. Different. Where are the hops? AmazonMatt (285), Panama
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 1, 2009 You’ve got to be kidding me. This is the best beer that I’ve had in quite a while. Clean citrus and pine hops. A touch of sweet rather than puckering dry. It is extremely clear orange copper in the pour with an eggshell head. The 10% alc. was completely hidden, which seems to me another testament to how great this beer is. Last beer of 2008 for me, and perhaps one of the best. Harsebrau (168), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2008 Where it lacks in aroma, it picks up in flavor. This has a very faint smell of citrus, grassy notes, hops. Pours a clear, copper hue. Off white, frothy head. It has a pleasent flavor of round candy, quickly followed by a sharper hop/citrus. It is smooth swallowing though. Lacks the punch of what I expected for an Imperial IPA. Tasty beer though. darn1207 (668), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
