BitchesBrew (699), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Mar 19, 2008 [22 oz. bottle] Resinous hop aroma, some caramel sweetness. Very bright amber color, with a tiny bit of foam. Flavors are initially quite sweet, with a strong, complex hop flavor trying to balance thing out. Dense mouthfeel. Finishes with a pretty strong alcohol warmth.
mexicanese70 (5), los angeles, California, USA does not count Sep 8, 2008 on a trip to durango i stopped into the ska brewing brewery and was blown away. this beer has such a great flavor i bought 15 bottles to take home because they dont sell it in california ajm (367), California, USA Sep 5, 2008 I would actually drink this again, which is not something I bandy about with IIPAs. The secret I think is that this has flashes of being an imperial red, which I love. Great orange and apple notes here, with an odd chocolate coming through in the nose. Good balance and obviously very clean water make this very, very drinkable at any temperature. tomthompson89 (1149), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 1, 2008 Bottle with Mike from Cole’s. nice hoppy nose with some malt sweetness. color is amber nice whitish head, flavor is hoppy but not overpowering, i know everyone thinks it should be hoppier but i thought it was one of the most balanced DIPA’S ive had scraff (1667), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 20, 2008 22 oz - Purchased at Chip’s @ the OBX. Deep coppery orange, creamy off white head. Soft piney peach aromas ride soft waves of sugary caramel. Moderate tropical and fuzzy fruit hop flavors do well to balance on a syrupy brown sugar malt backbone. Full bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Not world class, but certainly worthy of giving it a whirl... PsionSaint (51), Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2008 Excellent IPA that pours hazy amber with very slight aroma. Definite citrus notes in flavor, nice big hops without being overpowering. Only way you know this is an imperial is once you stand up. It’s on my favorites list now.
