| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2008 (Tap) Pours a very dark brown color with a lighter tan head. Aroma of coffee and roasted grain notes. Taste includes some creamy vanilla notes, burnt coffee grounds, cocoa and sweet molassas. More carbonation than average, and rather well balanced. My only complaint would be the sweet finish that isn’t really balanced by the hops. Other than that, a better than expected beer from Ska. rustychiles (1067), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Pours a deep dark brown with a tannish brown head. Smells of coffe, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste of the roasted malts are very well balanced with a bittersweet taste that is also accented with chocolate and coffee flavors. Good job SKA, this is a very nicely done porter. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 15, 2008 Bottle from Sam’s Chicago. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Heavy roasted coffe and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with soft carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced bittersweet flavor with a solid bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid complex beer. WickerBrew (312), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2008 First of all, whats with the wax? All it adds to is the difficulty of opening. Once it is poured it looks nice, smells good, but its downhill from there. Not enough body and only a little roasted. Needs to go way farther, and its not as creamy as the bottle proclaims. Not bad, but with all the stouts and porters out there this becomes very forgettable. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head that fades leaving minimal lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, roated malt, and coffee. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Finally a SKA brew that I can enjoy. Very good. AmEricanbrew (1946), orange, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Black with a thin khaki head. Strong nutty roasted malt smell. Medium/full body and very smooth. Great taste is a smooth roasted/blackened malt flavor with ightly sweet pit fruits. Barely a hint of the 8.5%. 101706
