’07 rating: The grapefruit is just creosote in the younger bottle and there is much more carbonation. This is not as good as the older bottle, actually.

Nov 26, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of nicolascage. Clear, dark brown with a reddish hue and a rough, off-white head. Vinous aroma of roasted malts. Full body rich in sweet, roasted malt, some dried fruit - prunes in particular - and a subdued bitternes. Pleasant alright. 201107

Nov 21, 2007 RB#2222: 22 fl oz bottle. Pours deep brown to black and with a dense light brown head. Roasted malt, chocolate and slight hoppy aroma. Flavour is dry liqourice and slight roasted malt flavour, but dominated by liqourice. Finish holds a nice hoppy bitterness breaking the dark malt and liqourice note. Nice one.

Nov 20, 2007 Bottled. Black coloured. Chocolate and cocoa aroma. Slightly roasty flavour with loads of chocolate and some coffee. Soft mouthfeel. Very mild. Medium bodied.

Nov 18, 2007 Below average porter. Poured a nice black but minimal carbonation led to a disappointing head. Light aroma of chocolate and red wine. Flavor of roasted malts and some coffee. Alcohol not well hidden. Kind of thin too, not as robust as an imperial porter should be.

Nov 13, 2007 Thanx to Elmatador for this.This was a typical porter.Had the black color with khaki head and the chocolate, coffee aroma.this was average at best.Nothing made this different than most average porters.Coffee with some sweetness to it as it finished of coffee bitterness.

Nov 9, 2007 22 oz. bottle. Pours a midnight black with a small, medium khaki head. Nice full body. Aroma of roasted malts with some sweetness. Flavor is pretty good compared to the other SKA beer I’ve had. Chocolate notes with some coffee in the background are nice. Mild bitterness takes this one to the finish.

Oct 27, 2007 Bottle brought back from Durango. After having their putrid example of an imperial IPA in Decadent - I was expecting something just as bad for Ten Pin. This was a HUGE step up. While not being anywhere amazing, at least it exemplified a decent take on porter. Nice dry, roasty, bitter, choco coffee flavors blend reasonably well. Smaller then expected - and unlike Decadent, at least this thing was finishable. Average!
