| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2007 Pours pretty flat...you’ve almost gotta shake the bottle to get any head. For some reason, it’s really hard for me to distinguish any specific flavors. I’m not really getting the chocolate that everyone is talking about. The most noticeable flavor to me is a dark fruitiness...and a nice smooth malty-like tinge. It also finishes a bit hoppy, which seems to balance things out pretty well. drewbeerme (2282), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2007 bottle, from Raleigh Whole Foods. Good aroma, malty. I get a nutty mealy thing I’ve gotten from othe SKA beers. I asssume it’s the yeast. The usual chocolate, coffee scents. Clean orangy dark brown color, smallhead with minor lacing. Sweet flavor, malty. Cocoa, chocolate , nutty. Little fruity. Cherry &raisin. Medium to thick body, creamy smooth mouthfeel. roasty chocolaty finish. It kind of surprised me as I didn’t have high expectations of this beer by reading people’s reveiws. Don’t know if I would say "wickedly outrageous" but a good porter thats worth a try. kkearn (1002), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
