Big coffee and soft cocoa with and a nice creamy character are this beers best parts. Some what clean, but a tad bitter in the finish. If only there were a more toasty body. | 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Bomber, looks exactly like the pic. Dark brown with a thin beige head. What happened here? Boiled vegetable nose and flavor - like boiled peas. Hints at a chocolate flavor under the ass. Bad bottle? Maybe, but this was awful. IrishBoy (2722), Bakersfield, California, USA

Noseof chocolate and coffe malts, with a hint of smoke in the background; very dark but transparent brown with a medium, long-lasting, glass-lacing tan head; good coffee, chocolate, and caramel flavors, along with a little hop bitterness, came from the light body. Alcohol was well hidden! garmonbozia (232), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

Nice smell of chocolate and malts, taste was ok. At first I could taste the malts and caramel, but then it turned into more of a smokey flavor. On the downside, I found it a little thin. Overall I thought it was a nice beer JoeMcPhee (5030), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2006 Tasted courtesy of beastiefan2k. Black as night with a thin light brown head. Great milk chocolate aroma. Sweet malted milk and chewy caramel malts. Light herbal character. Low bitterness. A touch of grassy/floral hops show through all of the dark maltiness. Finishes with a lovely grassy hoppiness on the back. Molasses and a bit of smokiness along with the previously mentioned milk chocolate. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 1, 2006 Bottle at the CTV3. Poured dark brown with a light tan head. Fresh aroma of hops and coffee? Me thinks this one had some infection issues...at least I hope so. Flavor was very thin with some coffee to it. Thin body...I really hope that most of the problems were infection...but this felt like a very poor example for the style.
