Poured a dark black/brown with a small, light tan head that quickly reduced to a small ring with light film and minimal lacing. The aroma was roasty, a little coffee, toffee, molasses, and some sweetness. The flavor was similar, adding a touch of wood and light hop bitterness. Medium + body and a creamy mouthfeel. Pretty tasty. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 12, 2009 This bluye wax topped bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a semi-opaque softly carbonated dark brown colored body. The aroma was hoppy and brown malt. The mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor was slightly acidic with a brown malt backing. An OK brew just nothing special. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 9, 2009 A dark black beer with a decent head. Aroma was slightly roasty, & chocolaty. The taste was roasty, milk chocolate, coffee, & creamy. This is a very enjoyable beer & I thought this is better than the score it currently has. My first Imp. Porter & it reminds me of an Imp. Stout. omhper (12298), Stockholm, Sweden

Appley licorice nose. Sweet, clean and empty. Spritzyness resolves the hard malt into bubbles that disappear into vacuum. Caramel with salt and resin, but all diluted. Green apples comes to dominate the finish. jbye4334 (719), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2009 Bottle 2 years old It pours a dark color, almost black, with too much head (too much carbonation). The aroma is meaty, with some roasted malt (mild) and fresh wood; light yeast too. Medium bodied; it has some chocolate and roasted malt flavor, less bitter than most American beers. Quite boring overall. notalush (2689), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2009 Dark brown beer, with a thick, fizzy lace - aroma of roast, vanilla bean, chocolate, doughy character - full carbonation, creamy mouthfeel - fairly sweet at first, with strong vanilla and cookie dough - starts to develop some roast and coffee bitterness through the middle, which eventually dominates the finish, but sweetness still lingers, reminding one of sweetened black coffee - a bit sweet overall, but decent. blueturk (68), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 24, 2009 Pours like a porter, but thin head. Dark brown with a light tan head. From the aroma, I could tell it wasn’t going to be that malty. I was right. Disappointed at this being an imperial porter, when the body was so thin and the complexity was lacking. Aroma was decent with some chocolate, and very light dark fruit. Not buying this one again...
