C.T. 3.0- Something was not right here. Dark brown with a thin, tan head. Smelled a bit sour, was thin and tasted like someone put their cigarette out in the bottle before they capped it. Maybe the next one will be better...

Bottle shared by nolankowal: Dark brown pour with a light tan head. Honestly I think something was wrong with this bottle, the aroma was almost like saurkraut, very thin body, and a good deal of carbonation. Hopefully I get to try it again to rerate.

on tap-pours a retaining creamy tan head with a dark brown with ruby red highlights. Aroma is chocolate-dark malt. Taste is coffee, dark malt and alcohol. OK carbonation. For a big beer drinker.

Dark brown, with a light brown head. Aromas are chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and hops. Flavors are chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, and smoke. Body is a little thin. Not bad, but not great. Thanks to FlacoAlto for this bottle.

Bottle. Too light in the loafers for me. Nothing special. Probably the style that I dislike more than the actual beer itself, but Dogwood Youngblood’s was an imperial porter and was excellent. Poured out 1/2 of the bottle.

I wish I could brew a porter like this!! The reason I haven’t is that I don’t like porters. I know I’m missing out on a great, very complex style but I’m just not there yet. No ABV burning down the house. I think it smells great but the taste is so Smokey, malty, and dusty. My homebrew bro’s crank Porters out all the time and they taste just like this...nothing special. At least for me. Good for them to hit the style!!!

On tap @ Maproom: Pours a coffee black with a tan head. There’s no aroma when its first poured as it warms some small chocolate and coffee aroms come out. It’s medium bodied sweet with some chocolate, roasted, coffee, and underlying dark fruit flavors. I wanted the fruit flavors to be stronger and make this a little more complex, but overall ska has disapointed me again.
