Smelled a bit sour, was thin and tasted like someone put their cigarette out in the bottle before they capped it. Maybe the next one will be better... sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Honestly I think something was wrong with this bottle, the aroma was almost like saurkraut, very thin body, and a good deal of carbonation. Hopefully I get to try it again to rerate. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 8, 2006 Bottle. Too light in the loafers for me. Nothing special. Probably the style that I dislike more than the actual beer itself, but Dogwood Youngblood’s was an imperial porter and was excellent. Poured out 1/2 of the bottle. jmcguire1969 (149), Lafayette, Colorado, USA

I know I’m missing out on a great, very complex style but I’m just not there yet. No ABV burning down the house. I think it smells great but the taste is so Smokey, malty, and dusty. My homebrew bro’s crank Porters out all the time and they taste just like this...nothing special. At least for me. Good for them to hit the style!!! holdenn (1446), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 6, 2006 On tap @ Maproom: Pours a coffee black with a tan head. There’s no aroma when its first poured as it warms some small chocolate and coffee aroms come out. It’s medium bodied sweet with some chocolate, roasted, coffee, and underlying dark fruit flavors. I wanted the fruit flavors to be stronger and make this a little more complex, but overall ska has disapointed me again.
