Baker’s chocolate, cherries, coffee, citrus hoppage, and some dark fruit found the nose, however rather subdued for the "wickedly outrageous" description. Flavors were really about the same... with chocolate, coffee, and Cascade hops packing the most punch. Pretty smooth on the palate with hop and coffee bitterness. Nice chocolate and citrus finish. Nice porter that hid its alcohol well. Dough77 (779), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, some dark fruit, and coffee. Flavor is similar, but not quite as....good as I was hoping. not bad, but just average. Suttree (2743), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2005 Purplish black, no head. Mild coffee and prune aroma. Some Flavor. Yes indeed, flavor is in evidence here. My flavor receptors did perceive flavor in this beer. But not much. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 29, 2005 A medium-thick, sticky specimen. Heavy on the coffee, with notes of vanilla, rubbing alcohol, and some kind of fruit. The taste was a quick, roasted flash-in-the-pan, however, followed by lasting bitterness. Ah well. I feel like this brewery is a bit on the gimicky side, but this is still one of their better beers. Beer #44 at the World Beer Festival in Durham, NC. One of the few porters I’ve had lately. Not a bad specimen. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Chocolate aroma dominates, but I do get some of the cherry the CD mentions. Dark brown with a thin mocha head. Good lacing. Caramel and chocolate malts in the fore. Coffee and chocolate in the middle. Fairly bitter finish. Not a true baltic I suppose. more a high abv american porter. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 18, 2005 22 oz, blue waxed caped bottle (2005 version): fairly opaque, charred chestnut with orange highlights. Pours with a light tan, small bubbled cream. Blackberry and toffee-ish aroma with burnt cherries and a good alcohol twinge. Sweet, sticky palate, a little under-carbonated. Roasted chocolate and fruit flavours with a slightly acidic finish. Dark, chewy caramel, and sticky charred red grapes hint at deep flavours, but never gets deeper than the initial thought. The aroma offered more promise than the actual flavours doled out…not bad all told. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
