| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Carmel, licorice, burnt chocolate on the nose. Somewhat mild for a supposed imperial porter, mild chocolate flavor. A tad lackluster in mouthfeel, not much on the palate. Very drinkable, but I don’t think I would buy this again. soccer290 (137), Highland Park, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2009 22 oz bottle with silver/white wax. Interested just by the name though I heard good thing about this. Pours a black color with a two finger high tan head that is full bodied and stays full the whole time. Smells of chocolate, a little bit of coffee, perhaps some cherry, and some roasted malts. Tastes very similar to the smell, with the roasted malts and chocolate being more profound on the taste. Pretty smooth, with too much head for my liking. SudsMcDuff (1695), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

Wax toped bottle poured into a pint glass produced a finger worth of white head that turned to a thin lace. The body was black in color with burgandy highlights at the edge of the glass.
Aroma was nice and roasty with a little chocolate and coffee thrown in for effect. The flavor was very pleasant on the tongue not to bitter with enough sweetness to make the roasted malts extremely drinkable. There is some fruitiness in the taste as well. The feel is great in the mouth, medium to full with good carbonation on the tongue.
Drinkability is great it is a well balanced Baltic. Quite easy to drink when I come to think about it almost a Quaffable brew for us hearty New Englanders. This is one of my top ten of the style

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 11, 2009 The aroma is good for the style with coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. The appearance is dark brown with a light tan head. The flavor is like the aroma but has a bit of vegetables. The palate is thin for the style and the finish is bitter. Overall not a great strong porter. Palidor19 (1785), Brandon, Florida, USA
