Roasted malt, coco powder and some coffee on the nose. Chocolate and caramel come through most on the tongue. Coffee and dried cherries too. Creamy mouth feel. Decent Imperial Porter. biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2008 This was a thoroughly enjoyable brew. Actually had a sort of refreshing creaminess to it, which was great. It lit this cowboys fire one cold winter night while doing homework. I found it to not be brutal NOR nefarious, I cannot comment on the tin pins, which I only know of from bowling and not beer. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Deep brown with an oily pour, quickly dissipating tan head. Sweet roasty malt, chocolate, caramel and oats in the nose. Again sweet and roasty malts with lots of rich chocolate, some dark fruits, caramel, coffee, slight smoke and a nice dose of bittering hops. Finish is dry and bitter, could just do with a little more body. Butters (1653), Virginia, USA

Very creamy medium full body. Nice job with this one. I really wasnt all that impressed with thier IIPA. riversideAK (2792), Shoreline, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2008 Waxed topped bottle with a cool ass label generously provided by hellbilly. Thanks man! Pours a dark brownish tone with a thin bubbly head. Kind of cola like to be specific. Aroma of sweetish chocolate, light roast, minute dark fruit, and some earth. Piney/earthy hops followed by chocolate sweetness followed by roasted malts then finished by a tad bit of smoke. Some dry roasty earth lingers along with some light chocolate sweetness. The body seemed a little thin at times, but as it warmed it seemed a little creamier. I liked this one a good deal actually. faroeviking (6125), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 18, 2008 Botella. Dark brown colour. Mild roasty caramel aroma. Rather thin mouthfeel for an imp. porter. The flavour has roasted malt and caramel. Roasty short lasting thin finish. Disappointing. Thanks for sharing Skinnyviking. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 18, 2008 In short: A sticky porter surprisingly easy to drink. Lots of black malts related flavours but low on hops.
How: Bottle 22oz, about 8 months old. Sent to me by BeerandBlues2, thanks a lot Tom!
The look: Black body topped by a tan ring of foam
In long: Nose is sweet “black” stuff. Taste is mainly about sweet dark malts. Low roastiness level for the style. Sticky black liquorice, sweetened dark fruits (dates, figs, black grapes), rather vinous, somewhat sticky (distant tar feeling) with a moderate-high sweetness level. The beer definitely lacked a bit of hops bite and I don’t think it was much better balanced fresh 8 months ago. Despite its nature the beer was actually highly drinkable, I went through my bomber in record time. A decent beer although about as balanced as a one-legged man on a unicycle.
