Pours a near black with a foamy tan head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is big and roasty. Lots of bitter chocolate and dark roasted coffee in both the aroma and flavor. A bit of vanilla and fruit working in the flavor. A bit thin bodied, but a very good offering from SKA.

Lots of dark bitter malt, chocolate, coffee. A little bit of sherry & alcohol. Palate is a little thin, carbonation is so-so.

Pours a very inky black in color with a ring of head around the perimeter of the glass. Smell is very roasted, dark chocolates. Maybe some coffee and black malt. Taste is more of the burnt dark chocolate. Pretty bitter and strong. Easy drinking, but not overly complex.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown with a pocked tan head. Nose is mocha and faint grape jelly. Medium body with tangy carb. Taste is coffee and brown sugar with a touch of lime juice. Cardboard aftertaste.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark brown color with a small creamy lasting beige head. The aroma has dark chocolate, cocoa, with a nice roasted character. The flavor was much of the same with the addition of some dark fruits working their way in. Very smooth and no indication of alcohol. This is easily the best beer by SKA I have had to date.

22 oz bottle Poured thick off white head. Thin body very little aroma. Flavor was weak slight hop bitterness very little malt character. A very poor example of an imperial porter. Absolutely would not buy again.

perfectly balanced dark roasted malts and the minimum touch of hops necessary for a porter. resinous cacao beans darkened to perfection, delicious sweetness is on the cusp of overwhelming. one of the better ska offerings for certain. no detection of booze whatsoever!
