Apr 14, 2008 22 oz bottle Poured thick off white head. Thin body very little aroma. Flavor was weak slight hop bitterness very little malt character. A very poor example of an imperial porter. Absolutely would not buy again.

Apr 5, 2008 perfectly balanced dark roasted malts and the minimum touch of hops necessary for a porter. resinous cacao beans darkened to perfection, delicious sweetness is on the cusp of overwhelming. one of the better ska offerings for certain. no detection of booze whatsoever!

Apr 5, 2008 Tasted 4/4/08. 22oz bomber. Dark brown hue. Clinging bone white head. Aromas of cocoa almonds and raisins. Toasst and a slight hint of orange. Full bodied with a smooth malt driven palate. Toasty and cocoa flavors. Slight vanilla smoothness. Nice with a sticky finish. Cocoa dust and a slight smokiness. Mild acidity. Slight fig note. Tasty.

Apr 3, 2008 12 ounce bottle shared with Illini08. Poured a very dark black color with a very small brown head. The pour reminded me of an imperial stout. The aroma was very strong with a lot of bitter chocolate, coffee, and possibly some dark fruit. The taste was very good... it had a chocolate bitterness that was very pleasing. Overall, this was a very tasty beer! As Illini08 said though, it could have had a little heavier mouthfeel...

Apr 3, 2008 General66 shared a bottle of this with me; thanks Bobby! Very dark pour with a minuscule tan head. Tons of chocolate aroma along with some burnt malt. Bitter chocolate, some roasty, coffee-like character, and a bitter finish. The bitterness in the finish was mainly a chocolate-like bitterness, but there was a slight hop presence as well. My main complaint is that the palate is a bit thin. All around, a tasty beer that was easy to drink.

Mar 31, 2008 22. Thanks, BitBucket! Black. Slim tan rim. Big chocolate nose. Creamy medium body. Bitter tree fruit (almost pruney). Along with semi-sweet chocolate on the mid-palate. Long baking chocolate finish.

Mar 31, 2008 Bomber that has been sitting in my cellar so long I have no idea who sent it. Maybe shigadeyo? Pours a clear blackish brown with a thin but lacy tan head. Sweet molasses and coffee aroma. Creamy medium body and light carbonation. Brown sugar, coffee and chocolate in the taste, joined by a bit of smoke on the finish. Nice!

Feb 18, 2008 Nice dark color with beautiful lace. Smells of sweet chocolate and tastes of dark cherries, or bananas. Mad Good!
