Poured a hazy amber with a huge foamy head. Flavor was okay, nothing to spectacular, primarily orange peel hop flavor. Palate was okay but finish held on to the orange peel. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 5, 2005 Not bad at first, I think, but not great as it warms. Pours deep amber/caramel with a thin film of a head. Hoppy, murky, slightly vegetal nose. Tingling carbonation hides a thinning body. Moderately sweet, flavor of pine cones, graham crackers, iron supplements in chewable vitamins, fresh-cut grass in a field. Only moderately sweet. It ends a little too much on the side of vegetation. Drinkable, though. Thanks Kevin and Lumpy for this souvineer of GABF 2005. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Bottle. Dark body with a thin dense head. Nose-perfume, rather hoppy for an amber ale. Taste-sweet residual hops, apple, pine, some wood. Leaves a sticky sweet aftertaste. bu11zeye (5468), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 24, 2005 (Bottle, courtesy of Kevin) Pours a clear copper body with a small white head. Aroma of mild hops and caramel. Flavor of malt, caramel, mild hops, a hint of fruitiness, and a bit flat. fomentateur (110), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 0.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Oct 9, 2005 If only the beer was as busy as the box it came in. I found the red to be the same as the brown with less aroma, flavor, and mouth feel. I hate to say, but I think this is the miller lite of amber ales. Very boring, uneventfull, watery, little to no malt character, no hop character, not even a perceptive bitterness, is this really beer? NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2005 Sweet bread, fruit and mild hops int he aroma. Tea colored with a pinky thick white head. Light fruity hops int he fore followed by some mild graininess and then more hops. Not a lot going on, but what there is I found enjoyable and uncomplicated. PullMeABeer (203), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Bottle. Pours light amber, thin bubbly head, and very carbonated. Aroma light sweet fruit, a little beady, with a lingering mild citrus hop bite. The somewhat acidic hops presence dominates the flavor, followed by a earthy fruitiness. Very zesty brew, quite refreshing, but somewhat harsh. Light/Medium mouthfeel. All in all it is quite tasty.
