| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 19, 2009 Pours a copper color with a rather minimal diminishing head. The aroma contains small hints of caramel and some bread, though their really isn’t much in the aroma in general. The flavor also contains slight hints of caramel, unlike other better ESB’s. It’s rather light with not much in the way of taste. Hardly a beer I’ll ever buy again. merlin48 (520), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Can pours a hazy honey amber body with a small offwhite head. Aroma of toasted biscuit and spicy hops. Taste mirrors aroma, with toasted caramel malt, a hint of honey, spicy hops, and a hint of ripe pear. Nicely constructed, and spot on for style. Sessionable. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 7, 2009 12 oz can. Clear burnt orange with a small, lasting head. Aroma is toffee with slight prickly herb-spice. Flavor is initially big toffee-apple; turns to a delicate, bitter herb and light fruit finish. Slight wood and smoke on the finish at times, too. Pretty decent for a canned beer, and seems true to the style. Not a bad ESB, vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 14, 2009 Pours clear copper with an off-white head. The aroma has creamy caramel malt, light earthiness and slight oxidation. Medium slightly grainy body with rolling carbonation. The flavor starts with caramel malt with some green apple and sourness. Meh. If I get a better bottle I’ll rerate.
